ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - PROJECT MANAGEMENT

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Associate Director, Project Management to lead complex projects and programs within our Health Care Payor BPaaS (Business Process as a Service) division. This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale healthcare payer initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare payer operations, BPaaS models, and project management best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Program Leadership:

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery for large-scale BPaaS initiatives in the healthcare payer domain.
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with business goals and client expectations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Oversee multiple workstreams and ensure cross-functional coordination.

Stakeholder & Client Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, senior leadership, and key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate executive-level communication and reporting on project status, risks, and milestones.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and external partners.

Operational & Risk Management:

  • Identify risks, dependencies, and roadblocks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Drive compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, NCQA) and industry best practices.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and project outcomes.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Manage project managers, business analysts, and cross-functional teams, ensuring high-performance execution.
  • Foster a culture of agility, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior project managers and team members.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field (MBA or PMP certification preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in project/program management within healthcare payer operations, BPaaS, or a related domain.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare payer processes (e.g., claims, enrollment, provider management, billing).
  • Experience with BPaaS delivery models, outsourcing, and process transformation.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, ServiceNow).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SAFe frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and ACA plans.
  • Strong understanding of automation, AI, and digital transformation in healthcare operations.
