Responsibilities –

• Facilitate communication between IT, SBUs and clients

 • Participate in software development groups and teams in requirements gathering, analysis, design, risk mitigation, programming/construction, unit testing and transition of applications into a production environment.

 • Gather and document business requirements and functional/detail requirements

• Translate business requirements to functional and technical specifications

• Function as a liason between business areas and technical staff

• Develop scope of work to satisfy business goals and requirements

• Provide detailed review and documentation of costs for proposed solutions

• Work with system developers, test teams, process managers, and end users to ensure proposed solution is delivered according to schedule and with the required functionality

• Analyze/document new and existing processes and procedures

• Continuously review test plans and provide feedback on methodology when necessary

 • Participate in conducting regularly scheduled reviews of newly proposed and exiting projects to ensure quality and accuracy is delivered to end users

 • Maintain traceability matrix and manage change requests

 • Function as contact for problem analysis and resolution

• Work as part of a team to conceptualize solutions for the improvement of business goals

• Apply industry standard analysis, documentation techniques where appropriate to assist in providing optimum solutions

• Follow SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) processes

• Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT –

 • The Senior Business Systems Analyst receives guidance and supervision from a senior staff member. This role functions under moderate supervision and works in collaboration with a project manager or senior staff member daily.

 

 CRITICALITY –

• This is an important mid-level role to bridge the gap between IT and business functions.

 • Moderate levels of risk, accountability and responsibility are associated with the Senior Business Systems Analyst role.

• Sound judgement and strong problem-solving skills are required to determine an approach translating business requirements into technical solutions.

 

 COMPLEXITY –

• Moderate level of complexity. The Senior Business Analyst role involves clearly defined processes such as documentation, but also entails leveraging technology for the purpose of process improvement.

• Stakeholders include peers, junior level analysts, senior management, SBU’s and production and delivery organizations throughout the organization.

Facilitation: Facilitation is the means of expediting a process or operation quickly and efficiently. Particular focus is on meetings but can include other processes such as the delivery of products and services where others are involved, and their participation is critical to success.

 Business Analysis: Knowledge of Business Analysis, the identification of requirements in the context of helping organizations to achieve strategic goals through internal changes to organizational capabilities, including changes to policies, processes, and information systems.

System Development Life Cycle: Note: This skill category refers to SDLC phases, not necessarily a formal methodology. The systems development life cycle (SDLC) model is an approach to developing an information system or software product that is characterized by a linear sequence of steps that progress from start to finish without revisiting any previous step.

Applications Knowledge: The knowledge of the design and program components of systems applications permitting their maintenance as well as the development of new, replacement systems; or, (2) knowledge of the operation and support of the system from the standpoint of computer operations, network operations, and/or technical support; or, (3) knowledge of the functions from a user perspective, including for customer and help desk support. Specific applications by name may be added to a person's skills profile to indicate the actual level of expertise.

Project Management: A Project Management Methodology addresses the principles, practices and procedures for performing project management.

 Documentation: Documentation is the preparation and delivery of information to readers (or listeners or viewers) in a manner that is adapted to their needs, level of understanding, and background. It can include technical, program, system, specifications, requirements, general reports, manuals, and other forms of documentation.

 Communication: The ability to communicate clearly, diplomatically and effectively to an audience that may include, staff, investors, stockholders, stakeholders, clients, and others verbally and through announcements, newsletters, memos, annual reports, status reports and other media. Teamwork: Teamwork is the ability to work with others where a person does part of the work and subordinates personal needs and recognition to assure efficient accomplishment of the whole task.

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS –

Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses:

• A Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Information Processing or business-related curricula, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.

Relevant Years of Experience Required:

• 4-6 years of experience in defining/developing software products and/or managing software development efforts.

• JIRA

• Confluence

 • Agile / Scrum Methodology

• PowerBi • Understanding and familiarity with – AWS

• Good to have – SQL proficiency

 

Other Requirements (Specialized skill sets, behavioral/technical):

• Prior experience with software testing standards, practices, methods, and tools

 • Excellent planning, organization, and problem identification skills

• Excellent information and data analysis skills

• Prior experience in financial applications preferred

 • Demonstrated problem-solving ability

• Excellent technical and business terminology to consult with clients, vendors, and other internal staff

• Proven ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously (balance workload)

 • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment

• Any experience with electronic payments and /or financial systems is a huge plus

• Experience with order management systems that connect to payment systems is also a plus
