Description: 

L2/L3 Network Engineer

•       Performs service fulfillment for request on network services

•       Own and drive incident resolution

•       Own and drive root cause identification and permanent resolution of network issues

•       Perform moderate to complex network changes

•       Performs on call support during after business hour and weekend on a rotational basis

 

 
Candidate Specifications:

Minimum Educational Level

·    Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.

Professional / Special Qualification

•        CCNA is preferred.

•        ITIL certification is preferred

*Candidate without certifications but able to demonstrate exceptional level of knowledge and skills with proven track record may be considered.

Pre-Requisite

·    Minimum 5-8 years of experience working in large Network Operations (>500 devices) environment within FSI hold a Level 2 engineer role or similar

·    Intermediate to Expert Cisco Systems/Palto Alto networking knowledge and experience. Example: Routers and Switches/ Firewalls

o Intermediate to expert knowledge on OSPF, BGP and EIGRP – Route manipulation and troubleshooting.

o Switching, STP/VTP knowledge; troubleshooting

o Hands-on experience/knowledge on IOS-XE devices.

o Voice packet flow

·    Advanced Internetworking knowledge and experience.

o Example: TCP/IP, Traceroute, OSI 7 Layers

o Analyzing Packet capture/wire shark output

·    Cisco Wireless and ISE – Good to have

o Troubleshooting incidents.

o Knowledge on policy implementation (Authentication/Authorization)/TACACS

·    Has experience working with enterprise class Network Management tools

o Network Management System

o Network Performance System

o Packet Capture Technology

·    Has experience working with enterprise class Ticketing System

Preferred (Advantage)

·    Candidate with experience supporting data network in a Telecommunication company network a plus.

·    Process oriented

·    Highly self-driven and thrive with minimum supervisor

·    Able to operate well in an environment where teamwork is critical.

·    Good at handling stress and critical/difficult situation

·    Good Telephony Skills

·    Good spoken, written English. Other languages a plus

·    Familiar with Microsoft Office Products, IE- Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.

Working Hours

Incumbent will rotate through the shifts based on business requirements
